The Kirk's Deck the Halls

The Saturday after Thanksgiving started the decorating process in our house.

First stop: The Christmas tree farm. Brandon insists we have a real tree every year.  He does have a good point with the awesome smell it leaves behind, but the mess is just disastrous for the next six months. We got ourselves a beautiful 7 foot tree......that turned out being a bit tall for our ceilings :/!

Once we got the tree in the house is when we realized we got it a little too big.  It scraped the ceiling as we put it up.

After a million fights with my cousin about what colors he wanted to use on my tree, we had an agreement and it turned out great. Nathan's specialty is the topper and he did a great job!

On to the next two trees.....

This is our small one in the front room that we set on top of a barrel. From the outside it looks like a 6 foot tree.

Our stair banister is all decked out too.....

Every year for the past 4 years we have had a wine themed tree, but since we bought our house a year ago Brandon requested that our "man cave" tree be sports themed. For once, he gets what he asked for ;).

The tree topper is so cool with the mini baseball bats, but, I know, I need to get more.

The best part of this tree is the Welker jersey tree skirt.

As most of you know, we rival each other in professional football. Brandon and Brady (the dog) are New England Patriots fans, hence the dogs name, and me and Zeke are Denver Broncos fans (he is going to kill me for saying that).  This Welker jersey covers all our bases since it is a Patriots jersey (that Brandon refuses to wear) of a now Broncos player.....muahahahah!

Now that our house is all decorated for the season, we are ready to enjoy the season and all the festiveness it has to offer.

Happy holidays.......20 more days until Christmas!

4th Annual Kirk Klan Ugly Sweater Party

As you can tell by the word annual, this is our Kirk family tradition. We have an ugly sweater party every year for Christmas. We deck out our whole house, garage, ourselves, and have a great time with friends and family. I usually make everything home made with some help from my mom and all her and my grandma's recipes.  This year I wanted to make it as simple but still cute as possible. I decided on a chili bar as the main entree.  I also delegated everyone that would help to make my favorite chili they make. SCORE! Way less work for me! Muahahahaha!  My dad made his tri tip chili, my mom made her white chicken chili, and Brandon made his pulled pork chili.  Besides the fact that we always make way too much food, the chili was definitely a hit. Of course the chefs tested everyone on who they thought had the best chili. They are all delicious in my eyes, obviously!  I did pitch in a little and made some appetizers and corn bread! Oh and I did all the decorating...

How is it even possible?

My baby girl is going to be ONE in a month!!!!!! Ahhhhh. I haven't been in as much awe as I am with the turn of 11 months. The turn calls for crazy days with  a walking baby, lots of party planning, transitions, but always a ton of fun while keeping this mama on her toes!  Yes, like I said, Zoie has officially started walking.  Baby walking is seriously so funny to watch. It's like they waddle and have no concept of bending either their knees or ankles. When she gets super excited she starts to run and it's so cute!   We are starting to transition her to whole milk. I have a feeling it will be rough since we discovered early on that she was protein and soy sensitive, but here goes nothing....  This little girl first of ours is getting into EVERYTHING and learning so much. I just love watching her grow, love on her brother and daddy, and just be so full of fun and laughter!

If you're going to San Francisco

(Singing voice)..... Could be scary if you knew how well I sang! Anyways, work sent us to San Francisco for our National Sales meeting so I thought it would be a great chance for me and Brandon to take advantage of one free flight. I was there Monday through Friday and Brandon flew in early Friday afternoon to start and finish the weekend.  We are so happy we did this. It was the first time we left Zeke for a weekend for just us!!!! While there for work, we had a couple opportunities to explore the city at night. We decided to go to the Beach Blanket Babylon show. BEST IDEA EVER! If you ever get the chance to go I highly recommend it. It was hilarious, entertaining, relatable to all ages, and pretty incredible with every seat being a great seat.  Once the work events were over, Brandon and I switched to a nicer hotel and got to exploring the city.  Since Brandon is from New England, we had to get some clam chowder. We also explored Alcatraz, rode the trolley everywhere, w...
