11th Annual Misfit "Dynasty" Buffet

So much meaning to that title!

This year was our 11th annual Misfit Thanksgiving Buffet.  We welcome anyone over who wants to come. Most people that come over don't have family nearby like us so we all just get together for a huge thanksgiving feast. Everyone has to bring their favorite childhood dish from Thanksgiving. It calls for great times, great food, and great libations including Jell-O shots! (Minus those libations and Jell-O shots for me this year, although I did drink my Sprite out of a wine glass).

Dynasty? Well back in August my brother in law, Matt, called my dad and Brandon to challenge them to a longest beard contest until Thanksgiving. The person that lost had to buy the pig that we roast every year. The biggest loser was Brandon. The biggest winner was my dad!

We also get to have a lot of our family together for some family pictures!

We also had my cousin out from Illinois! It was great to have a little bit of Illinois with us.

We hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving! Gobble gobble or as our family says Oink Oink!

Cruisin'

One of my best friends is getting married so in getting married style we had to have the bachelorette party. Her and her fiancé met on a cruise ship while both working, so going on a cruise was very fitting!  We took a short little 3 day (booze) cruise.  It was a lot of fun, my first time on ship/cruise, and I'm glad it's over.....wedding time!  Brandon had the kids all weekend and did an amazing daddy daycare job, even with activities and sports and all! He's super dad in my eyes!

Weekend project

I have had this vintage window frame for quite some time now.   I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it but have received lots of opinions and feedback on how to mount the picture. I had heard mount the picture on something sturdy before stapling it to the window, cut the picture into 6 boxes and have it touch the glass since there's a gap in the back, or my original and easy idea of just stapling the picture to the back of the window.  That is exactly what I did and it was the easiest thing ever. I cannot believe I waited so long to get it on and up!  I am completely obsessed with it and finally have a wedding picture up in our house. On to the next project......

Tour de Zeke's Room

We have been working on Zeke's room for what seems like forever. We painted and set up his big boy bed tons of blog posts ago.  His room is now presentable. I say presentable because we still have some things we would like to do, add, and buy!   We decided on a vintage vehicle theme. It went from vintage cars to vintage vehicles because, of course, the themes I choose are not so popular.  I found a vintage car print I liked on etsy but everyone said the fabric was too hard to make as sheets or the cut they had wasn't long enough for a full size bed. After all that I thought going with solid colors would be a great idea. I ordered a duvet cover, pillow shams, a bed skirt, and a blanket from Restoration Hardware. I got them home, put them on the bed with some navy blue sheets and thought "eh"!!! I kept it up for awhile but hated it!!! It was so boring, the down comforter wouldn't stay in place in the duvet cover, and it was so heavy and hard Zeke didn't want to ...
