Celebrating Fall

This month kicked off the Fall season.....and we took full advantage of it and did so many fun Fall activities.

Pumpkin patches:

Zeke's favorite word by far is definitely "punkin" so him being at a pumpkin patch was by far the highlight of his month.  The farm we went to had a family night so we gathered some friends and headed out! Pony rides, petting zoo, "punkins", train rides, and even a corn maze.....done and done!!!!

Apple picking:

Every year we head out to the local apple county with a couple families, choose a farm, and get a pickin! For some reason, my genius self decided to find other options than where we went last year! Obviously, that was not a great idea. Not only did we spend triple from last year, but there were almost NO apples! The pears were delicious and abundant. Like I said, apples were far from that! They had 3 different types and right before we left we found a couple trees in the parking lot where we not only filled up our bags, but also filled up our wagon! The kids hid them on the way out by sitting on them......Oops!

Pumpkin carving:

Since Zeke is still a little too young to carve a "punkin" without our help, we gave him some paint and a pumpkin and let him go to town! It turned out really good and he loves painting so that was a SUCCESS!

Brandon, of course, chose the biggest pumpkin at the patch! So off he went to carving that sucker. Being that Game 6 of the World Series was playing the night we carved our pumpkins can you guess what he carved???? A Boston Red Sox bearded player! I thought it turned out ok.

We drilled some holes into Zeke's "punkin" so it would light up the night!

Last but not least, Halloween:

Any holiday at daycare = fun Pinterest idea treats! Here's what we brought! So so so so so easy and still pretty cute!

The cutest part of this post (drumroll please)...........

Arrrrrrr

Zeke was a pirate!

Happy November! This day definitely kicks off the holiday season and us Kirks are more than thrilled about that!

GIRL!!!!!! Yayyyyy! We are having a little baby girl.  I had a feeling since I was sick for the first 4 months that it was either a really big pain in the ass boy or a girl. We went to one of our local gender reveal locations to see if they could tell us what we were having. They said coming in at 13 weeks and 6 days would be no problem.  Unfortunately, the umbilical chord was right in between the legs and the baby was facing my back. They scheduled me for another appointment the next day since we had a gender reveal party planned.  Same story as the night before, they couldn't tell. I scheduled myself another appointment the next day, but started doubting their abilities and getting nervous they wouldn't find out in time for our party.  I called another place and she got me in right away. After 3 trips to the bathroom, 3 glasses of ice cold water, and some jumping around, she found out what it was.   Because we planned on waiting to find out with our friends an...

Baby Kirk # 2....Makes 4!

Ya heard right!  We are pregnant and expecting Baby Kirk #2!!!!! This little babes is due June 6th , which makes me a little under 12 weeks.   We are all so excited! Zeke already knows where mommy's baby is and now thinks he has a baby in his belly too!  December can't come soon enough when we find out what we are having! I know people say the best surprise is to find out in the delivery room, but I think it's just as big of a surprise when you find out no matter when it is......and being a little more prepared is always good too!  Stay tuned for Baby Kirk #2 updates!  Happy Monday!

4th Annual Kirk Klan Ugly Sweater Party

As you can tell by the word annual, this is our Kirk family tradition. We have an ugly sweater party every year for Christmas. We deck out our whole house, garage, ourselves, and have a great time with friends and family. I usually make everything home made with some help from my mom and all her and my grandma's recipes.  This year I wanted to make it as simple but still cute as possible. I decided on a chili bar as the main entree.  I also delegated everyone that would help to make my favorite chili they make. SCORE! Way less work for me! Muahahahaha!  My dad made his tri tip chili, my mom made her white chicken chili, and Brandon made his pulled pork chili.  Besides the fact that we always make way too much food, the chili was definitely a hit. Of course the chefs tested everyone on who they thought had the best chili. They are all delicious in my eyes, obviously!  I did pitch in a little and made some appetizers and corn bread! Oh and I did all the decorating...
