Weekend project

I have had this vintage window frame for quite some time now.   I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it but have received lots of opinions and feedback on how to mount the picture. I had heard mount the picture on something sturdy before stapling it to the window, cut the picture into 6 boxes and have it touch the glass since there's a gap in the back, or my original and easy idea of just stapling the picture to the back of the window.  That is exactly what I did and it was the easiest thing ever. I cannot believe I waited so long to get it on and up!  I am completely obsessed with it and finally have a wedding picture up in our house. On to the next project......

September in a nutshell

We have been busy bees around this hive.  September marked Zoie's 3 months of life! My return to work from maternity leave  :(.  Leaving my precious little mini was definitely hard but her being with big brudder and having her in a great home with one of my close friends taking care of her helped a lot. Also going back during the busiest month of the year kept me extremely occupied. The start of football season!  Well this split house has been a battlefield all month. Brandon has been trying to brainwash Zeke into loving the Patriots, but I've been working Zeke on the Broncos all year!!!! I t started out with who ever he was around that's whose team he loved.  The battle has come to the point that Brandon bought him a Patriots hat and Zeke was upset it wasn't a Broncos one......YES!!!!!!!! SUCCESS!!!!!  Brandon even dressed the kids all up in their Patriots gear for the first week while I was at the gym for an hour......I was not too happy about it and chan...

3 monther

This is the month of nicknames......Baby girl, Girlfriend, Zoie Lynne, Mamas, Princess, Zo, Pretty girl.  I'm pretty sure she will start responding to anything. This month has been so busy and fun for this little one. She went to her first birthday party, got to meet her Mammy (Brandon's mom) and one of her cousins, and experienced a much needed vacation......haha what 3 month old needs a vacation? This one!  (Or maybe mommy and daddy just needed one).  Zoie Lynne sleeps like a champ. She is starting to like her play mat more. Absolutely adores her big brother. Has been laughing up a storm. Her smile is so contagious. Sitting up is her favorite and in turn she just started sitting in her bumbo and loves it.  After 3 months off, back to work I go on Monday :(. The comforting thing is that Zeke and Zoie will be together and we love where they go. Wish me luck on Monday.......

Ay Ay Ay

Hola! Como estas?  Sorry I must have spent too much time practicing my Spanish while we were in Mexico!  Yes, our crazy selves decided to take a leap of faith and take a week long Mexican vacation WITH the kids!  Although it was extremely hot and humid we lived it up, had a great, time, showed the newbies on the trip the ropes, and really enjoyed ourselves.  We got pretty much everything in that we wanted:  Mango Deck - we hung out here all day. Zeke played in the waves and built sand castles while we drank, ate, bought cool stuff, and watched the competitions. Zoie slept in the stroller and we figured out a way to keep her cool......dump an Adan and Anis blanket in the bucket of beer ice water and tie it around her head and cuddle with it. What a success  Shamu slide - while most people go back to their hotel room for a nap before a night out or dinner, we spent our time at the pool until dusk swimming and going down the shamu slide they have at our resort...

Tour de Zeke's Room

We have been working on Zeke's room for what seems like forever. We painted and set up his big boy bed tons of blog posts ago.  His room is now presentable. I say presentable because we still have some things we would like to do, add, and buy!   We decided on a vintage vehicle theme. It went from vintage cars to vintage vehicles because, of course, the themes I choose are not so popular.  I found a vintage car print I liked on etsy but everyone said the fabric was too hard to make as sheets or the cut they had wasn't long enough for a full size bed. After all that I thought going with solid colors would be a great idea. I ordered a duvet cover, pillow shams, a bed skirt, and a blanket from Restoration Hardware. I got them home, put them on the bed with some navy blue sheets and thought "eh"!!! I kept it up for awhile but hated it!!! It was so boring, the down comforter wouldn't stay in place in the duvet cover, and it was so heavy and hard Zeke didn't want to ...

Just like that...

We have a two month old.  Time is definitely flying by. Zoie is already two months old.  She is growing so much every day and developing her own little amazing personality.  She smiles all the time now.  She is starting to laugh.  Loves her bath time. We moved her from the baby bath in the sink to the baby bath in the tub with big brother. They love it and so do I. It makes our life a lot easier giving just one bath. Diaper changes are becoming a task she doesn't mind rather than hates.  She is doing much better in the car. After some errors and a couple trips to the post office, Zoie now has her very own blankie! It is so cute and very personalized. My aunt even included at the end that we are four generations with Zoie, me, my mom, and grandma. We just conquered those horrible two month shots, but Zoie took it like a champ! Lots of fun, newness and adventures to come this next month.....

Summer Fun Part 1

This summer is extremely different than last. Last year, work was slow, Zeke was younger (and more fearless), and we took adventures everywhere around here.  This year, on the other hand, I'm on maternity leave, have two kids to entertain, and we are learning a lot with every outing.  I definitely expected that our list of things to do wasn't going to get accomplished with a newborn. Boy was I wrong! I've taken risks to make sure we all have lots of fun. We have accomplished Sea World with a tiny bit of help from my mom  The zoo with a couple friends. The beach....multiple times  Paddle boarding  Our annual pow wow get together A baseball game  Lots of swimming at Grammy and Grampys pool  And some just hanging out too  Being that it's only the end of July we have lots more plans: family visits, more paddle boarding, boating, camping, and our first vacation as a family of four.  I just love making our summers memorable. What kind of summer act...
