Tour de Zeke's Room

We have been working on Zeke's room for what seems like forever. We painted and set up his big boy bed tons of blog posts ago.

His room is now presentable. I say presentable because we still have some things we would like to do, add, and buy!

We decided on a vintage vehicle theme. It went from vintage cars to vintage vehicles because, of course, the themes I choose are not so popular.

I found a vintage car print I liked on etsy but everyone said the fabric was too hard to make as sheets or the cut they had wasn't long enough for a full size bed. After all that I thought going with solid colors would be a great idea. I ordered a duvet cover, pillow shams, a bed skirt, and a blanket from Restoration Hardware. I got them home, put them on the bed with some navy blue sheets and thought "eh"!!! I kept it up for awhile but hated it!!! It was so boring, the down comforter wouldn't stay in place in the duvet cover, and it was so heavy and hard Zeke didn't want to cover up with it.

If you've ever ordered something from Restoration Hardware then you know they send you this huge package of catalogs once a year. After looking through the kids catalog, much to my surprise, they sell vintage airplane everything!!!!!

I called to try to exchange my six month old purchase.....no luck! After thinking of how I could convince them to exchange my stuff, I called back and with no questions whatsoever the associate exchanged it all! Yay!

Now we have the cutest vintage airplane sheets that goes with the awesome decor.

We incorporated a lot of Zeke's baby room theme of sock monkeys since they are fairly vintage.

Zeke was handed down the coolest handmade piggy bank from Brandon's nana, who passed away this past year.

Zeke has also started an amazing collection of antique cars handed down from my grandpa who Zeke calls grandpapa (cutest thing ever)!

We found this vintage Tonka truck at the antique store in town. The tank we just couldn't pass up at the farmer's market since daddy used to work on them in the military.

Like I said before we have lots we would like to do. We have been handed down all of Zeke's papa's (Brandon's dad, Zeke) license plates that had his name on them. We would like to make either a border or cool picture with them. We also want to add a TV for our spoiled child and some shelving to go with that. That can come once our money tree starts growing.......

Cruisin'

One of my best friends is getting married so in getting married style we had to have the bachelorette party. Her and her fiancé met on a cruise ship while both working, so going on a cruise was very fitting!  We took a short little 3 day (booze) cruise.  It was a lot of fun, my first time on ship/cruise, and I'm glad it's over.....wedding time!  Brandon had the kids all weekend and did an amazing daddy daycare job, even with activities and sports and all! He's super dad in my eyes!

Weekend project

I have had this vintage window frame for quite some time now.   I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it but have received lots of opinions and feedback on how to mount the picture. I had heard mount the picture on something sturdy before stapling it to the window, cut the picture into 6 boxes and have it touch the glass since there's a gap in the back, or my original and easy idea of just stapling the picture to the back of the window.  That is exactly what I did and it was the easiest thing ever. I cannot believe I waited so long to get it on and up!  I am completely obsessed with it and finally have a wedding picture up in our house. On to the next project......
