The Kirks take over NH

Or the other way around!

After our quick trip to NH, I felt slightly dominated.

Let's start with the day before our trip when we were trying to clean out the fridge and finding something to make for dinner was a bit challenging. Well we did it! Mashed potatoes, corn, and chicken. Not bad right? Until the next day.....

Our flight didn't leave until 9PM but both Brandon and I were texting each other all day about our upset stomach rendezvous! Brandon gets home from work and immediately hugs the toilet for an hour. I, on the other hand, was going in and out of feeling good and not.

We managed to make it to the airport and board the plane in one piece.

A little piece of advice: just because your slightly under 2 year old flies free until they are 2 does not mean it is comfortable or feasible!  When he was younger it was definitely doable but almost 2 was extremely challenging.

Prepare for landing........or more like me getting sick in a seat with the fasten seatbelt sign on! Yep the remains of our dinner from the night before came out all over me, the plane, and our carry ons! Just glorious!!!

The first day and a half were all about catching up on sleep and mending our food poisoned stomachs! Thankfully Zeke didn't have any of the mashed potatoes that we finally ruled were BAD!

Finally we were all back to normal and having a great time. It was so good to see everyone and introduce Zeke to them! We hadn't been back there since Zeke was born so we had a lot of catching up to do.

We were able to partake in birthday parties, see all the family including my sister in law and her wife all the way from London, enjoy ourselves, and most definitely eat lots of lobsters!

Zeke even got to see the snow fall and play a little bit in it.

Our trip definitely flew by! Until next time......

Cruisin'

One of my best friends is getting married so in getting married style we had to have the bachelorette party. Her and her fiancĂ© met on a cruise ship while both working, so going on a cruise was very fitting!  We took a short little 3 day (booze) cruise.  It was a lot of fun, my first time on ship/cruise, and I'm glad it's over.....wedding time!  Brandon had the kids all weekend and did an amazing daddy daycare job, even with activities and sports and all! He's super dad in my eyes!

4th Annual Kirk Klan Ugly Sweater Party

As you can tell by the word annual, this is our Kirk family tradition. We have an ugly sweater party every year for Christmas. We deck out our whole house, garage, ourselves, and have a great time with friends and family. I usually make everything home made with some help from my mom and all her and my grandma's recipes.  This year I wanted to make it as simple but still cute as possible. I decided on a chili bar as the main entree.  I also delegated everyone that would help to make my favorite chili they make. SCORE! Way less work for me! Muahahahaha!  My dad made his tri tip chili, my mom made her white chicken chili, and Brandon made his pulled pork chili.  Besides the fact that we always make way too much food, the chili was definitely a hit. Of course the chefs tested everyone on who they thought had the best chili. They are all delicious in my eyes, obviously!  I did pitch in a little and made some appetizers and corn bread! Oh and I did all the decorating...

Celebrating Fall

This month kicked off the Fall season.....and we took full advantage of it and did so many fun Fall activities.  Pumpkin patches: Zeke's favorite word by far is definitely "punkin" so him being at a pumpkin patch was by far the highlight of his month.  The farm we went to had a family night so we gathered some friends and headed out! Pony rides, petting zoo, "punkins", train rides, and even a corn maze.....done and done!!!!  Apple picking: Every year we head out to the local apple county with a couple families, choose a farm, and get a pickin! For some reason, my genius self decided to find other options than where we went last year! Obviously, that was not a great idea. Not only did we spend triple from last year, but there were almost NO apples! The pears were delicious and abundant. Like I said, apples were far from that! They had 3 different types and right before we left we found a couple trees in the parking lot where we not only filled up our bags, but al...
