Here goes nothin'

Hi ya'll! I am so excited to start blogging! I have been wanting to start one that could combine all my interests for quite some time.

Just a quick introduction about this little fam you are following!

I am married to my best friend Brandon.  We have been married for 3 1/2 years.
Brandon works as a heavy equipment mechanic and commutes to work every day an hour each way. He has a down right obsession with all New England sports teams (he is originally from there).  He served in the USMC for four years, which is why we met!


Mama to my yellow lab, Sir Brady of New England (like I said my husband is from New England). He is almost 4 and sheds like a maniac. If you have any secrets on how to control shedding, we are always open!!!!!



Mama to my crazy sweet little boy Zeke!  Zeke will be a whopping 2 in January! He has seriously brought the most joy in our lives ever.  He has the funniest little personality and is always keeping us on our toes.


I am a born and raised Southern Californian!  I work full time as a learning consultant. 


I have a deep love for the Denver Broncos (my dad is from Colorado and we stuck with his team).

I have a full on obsession with Pinterest and believe I have found a new business, a new hobby, or new ways to do things every time I peruse Pinterest.

I love hosting anything from small get togethers to big themed parties.

I pretend to be an interior decorator, but am far far far from it. On the same note, turning our house into a home with my great interior design skills is always a blast!

I love love love love Target! And I am always looking for a great deal on any store's racks!

Baby Zoie and Mama's Baby Shower

This weekend was just fabulous! My mom threw an amazing and all out baby shower for this already spoiled baby girl in my belly!  When we first thought about the theme of the shower, we thought it would only be fitting to go along with the room theme which is very light pastel colors inspired by a couple vintage Barbie pictures I found (more on that later). After much deliberation, we decided to go with a more bold vintage Barbie theme with the colors being black, pink and white with a lot of Barbie silhouettes.  After a million trips to Target, Home Goods, Ikea, Etsy, Tai Pan, Michaels, and Hobby Lobby we had a nice stock pile to start the decorating and planning.  My mom decided to pretty much redecorate her house from floor to ceiling starting with drapery.  She switched out her current drapes for some black and white striped fabric. You would not believe how great the fabric looked without even being sewed!!!! They looked like they belonged.  She also changed...

4th Annual Kirk Klan Ugly Sweater Party

As you can tell by the word annual, this is our Kirk family tradition. We have an ugly sweater party every year for Christmas. We deck out our whole house, garage, ourselves, and have a great time with friends and family. I usually make everything home made with some help from my mom and all her and my grandma's recipes.  This year I wanted to make it as simple but still cute as possible. I decided on a chili bar as the main entree.  I also delegated everyone that would help to make my favorite chili they make. SCORE! Way less work for me! Muahahahaha!  My dad made his tri tip chili, my mom made her white chicken chili, and Brandon made his pulled pork chili.  Besides the fact that we always make way too much food, the chili was definitely a hit. Of course the chefs tested everyone on who they thought had the best chili. They are all delicious in my eyes, obviously!  I did pitch in a little and made some appetizers and corn bread! If you're going to San Francisco

(Singing voice)..... Could be scary if you knew how well I sang! Anyways, work sent us to San Francisco for our National Sales meeting so I thought it would be a great chance for me and Brandon to take advantage of one free flight. I was there Monday through Friday and Brandon flew in early Friday afternoon to start and finish the weekend.  We are so happy we did this. It was the first time we left Zeke for a weekend for just us!!!! While there for work, we had a couple opportunities to explore the city at night. We decided to go to the Beach Blanket Babylon show. BEST IDEA EVER! If you ever get the chance to go I highly recommend it. It was hilarious, entertaining, relatable to all ages, and pretty incredible with every seat being a great seat.  Once the work events were over, Brandon and I switched to a nicer hotel and got to exploring the city.  Since Brandon is from New England, we had to get some clam chowder.
