Oh so sweet

As most of you all know strawberries are in full bloom. Spring is here and Summer is right around the corner! Ooooo I can't wait for the traditional summer dessert of strawberry shortcakes! Yummmmy!

We have a couple strawberry farms around us that you can pick yourself. We decided to make a little day trip of it and go picking with the kids. The weather was nice and the strawberries were ripe and oh so sweet.


We've done blueberry picking in the past and it was lots of work and time consuming. Strawberries, on the other hand, were super easy and faster than expected. 


We got our bucket filled up and decided on lunch since it was so fast and easy.

Cruisin'

One of my best friends is getting married so in getting married style we had to have the bachelorette party. Her and her fiancé met on a cruise ship while both working, so going on a cruise was very fitting!  We took a short little 3 day (booze) cruise.  It was a lot of fun, my first time on ship/cruise, and I'm glad it's over.....wedding time!  Brandon had the kids all weekend and did an amazing daddy daycare job, even with activities and sports and all! He's super dad in my eyes!

The Kirks take over NH

Or the other way around! After our quick trip to NH, I felt slightly dominated. Let's start with the day before our trip when we were trying to clean out the fridge and finding something to make for dinner was a bit challenging. Well we did it! Mashed potatoes, corn, and chicken. Not bad right? Until the next day..... Our flight didn't leave until 9PM but both Brandon and I were texting each other all day about our upset stomach rendezvous! Brandon gets home from work and immediately hugs the toilet for an hour. I, on the other hand, was going in and out of feeling good and not.  We managed to make it to the airport and board the plane in one piece.  A little piece of advice: just because your slightly under 2 year old flies free until they are 2 does not mean it is comfortable or feasible!  When he was younger it was definitely doable but almost 2 was extremely challenging. Prepare for landing........or more like me getting sick in a seat with the fasten seatbelt sign on...

Fa La La La La La La La La

As soon as Thanksgiving dinner ended, we immediately switched gears to Christmas.  My sister, my cousin and I left at 8:00 at night to get some Black Friday deals!  We left the chitlens with their dads and went on our way.  Toys R Us was brutal but we made it out in one piece. Target looked rough when we first walked in but ended up being very fast with an easy checkout.  Nathan gave up at the Target point and went to the truck to go to sleep......really?!  Kohls was so bad we walked in and walked right back out! Nothing there was worth a 4 hour wait!  The day after Thanksgiving always calls for champagne, Eggs Benedict, waffles, and golfing for the guys. This year we added Christmas decorating to the list.  We had our little elf out from Illinois do we needed to use him to our best ability.  My parent's house was all done by the end of Friday! Wowzers!  They have such a beautiful house that no matter what it will look amazing, but Nathan did...
