Following the Kirks

Holy cow is all I have to say! Time needs to slow its roll.  How the heck do we have an 8 month old (or since this is so delayed 8 1/2 month old) This little girl is small but definitely fierce. She is one spoiled baby by all she comes in contact with, especially her brother.  That boy adores the heck out of her and it is so adorable!  This month was the first time I left Zoie for longer than a date night. I had to go to San Francisco for a week of work and boy did I miss my little munchkins. If I have to wake up early, I would rather be woken up my crazy kids than breakfast and meetings!  While I was gone she popped a tooth. Shortly after 2 more came! All this within 4 weeks. We quite possibly may have a shark on our hands in no time!  Zoie is a crawling machine and loves the fact that she can go go go wherever it is she wants. We usually do something very thematic for who is playing in the super bowl. This year wasn't any different except that we kept it pretty low key. Brandon didn't want to be around a bunch of people with the most important game of the year for him and his team.  I was going to attempt to make some healthy appetizers since we have been eating clean. I wasn't too motivated to cook at all so we snacked on a couple things that were just laying around. The grand finale (for food that is) was our lobster dinner!  We are happy for a Patriots win! Happy husband = happy life ? Hahahaha 

We had a fabulous 3rd birthday celebration for Zeke. The theme was tough to decide on. Zeke's choices were camping, fishing, or baseball. And in typical 2 1/2-3 year old fashion he changed his mind everyday!  We stuck with camping and had a lot of fun doing it!  We welcomed guests with a great big bear.... We placed gifts in the tent that the kids got from Santa this year. Desserts were equally amazingly delicious and beautiful. The food was hot and ready. Tents were popped. Camplike creatures even came for a visit, where The Lizard Wizard taught the kids all about the animals, let them pet all them, and they even got to bathe the turtle, catch frogs, and walk around with snakes crawling on them. It was a huge hit! I feel like 3 is the perfect age to start the fun piñata! The kids were swinging like maniacs and it was too adorable! No camp party is complete without some s'mores toasting.  Zeke is still talking about how much fun his party was! I am so glad he had such...

I seriously seriously seriously cannot believe we have a three year old. It really does seem like just yesterday we were sitting in the hospital wondering when he was going to come after 10 days of hospitalized bed rest.  I want to cry just thinking about how much he has grown, how much he has learned, how big he is, what a little crazy butt he is, but also how freaking adorable and funny he is.  Zeke is slightly obsessed with the movie The Sandlot. He loves anything and everything sports. He got a basketball hoop from my parents for his birthday. He got himself set up for his first tball season from daddy and his Uncle Chase with a bat, a glove, and balls. Since I told everyone he loves sports I am pretty sure he is set with every other sport like soccer, golf, race cars, snowboarding, volleyball.....you name it, he already loves it and can't wait to play it. We are working on getting him in his own room all night. We put a TV in there and are hoping to keep him in there with...

Like I said before, two kids is no joke. We are busy little bees and constantly have something going that we unconsciously planned, or so it seems.  Every open minute is taken up by a plan, making meals, cleaning the house, or just getting coffee. These two make every crazy second so worth it though. One of my best friends from high school is having a baby and she had the cutest little baby shower. (It's about time my friends get on our level) Football football football We went to the zoo for the MLK holiday with some friends. My grandparents are out here from Illinois  And birthday planning for Zeke's third is well under way! (I can't believe he is almost three)

We are officially crawling!!!! This little babes has been rocking for like two months and now she is all over the place, following us into the kitchen, finding the dogs, and helping with laundry. She is definitely happy she is mobile. Zoie can eat like the big dogs! She loves her food and we have ventured away from baby food a lot and she couldn't be happier with her veggies, avocados, pancakes, eggs and everything else . She sleeps in her own bed semi soundly all night every night. And she is just so damn cute 

Zoie has made our little family of 4 totally complete. Zeke gets excited with every new move she makes. She moves a lot.....backwards!  We learned she is such a great traveler since we made our Midwest visit to Illinois. She got sung to on her half birthday! It was too cute. She is starting to eat lots of table food that we smash up for her. She is starting to sit up better and better. This girl is tiny but totally on track with everything. Also the best little baby ever!!!!!  And some bloopers...
